All Eyes- Film Trailer

I will be making a film trailer for a thriller film; I choose to create a thriller trailer because it will attract a wide audience as a lot of people watch films to get a thrill and to feel excited. This film is about a young female, Annabelle, who is unknowingly being stalked by a young male. The male stalks her through cameras on her CCTV, Computer, phone, iPad. These cameras are how the majority of the trailer is shown to show how he is watching her, the trailer escalates when the male begins to visit her at her house without her knowing and begins to plot revenge against her. The male is jealous of how popular Annabelle is. The identity of the male is revealed at the end of the film but not in the trailer, this is to create suspense and he will be masked throughout. This trailer is to promote the up coming film and to get the audience excited.

For this trailer I will need to shoot in numerous locations as the male is following/stalking her every move; I will need to shoot in a house, café and around the town centre. These locations are quite accessible for me most of it can be shot in Sheffield town centre

The target audience for this would be ABC1 16-25 year olds, this is because it would probably be certificated at 15 so only audiences above this age can go and see it. Also the target audience would have to be interested in the thriller genre for them to want to go and watch it. This product is to advertise the film,  this shows the audience a brief summary of the narrative to get them interested in the film, this is so they go and see it. I will use fast cuts and music to attract an audience who is interested in the thriller genre as this is a popular convention.

This trailer will begin with a brief background of Annabelle’s life, she is quite popular and outgoing, she also loved spending time with her friends, she had a good life. Next it will show the man beginning to hack into her cameras to look at her, the next few shots will be through the cameras to show him viewing her that way. Finally the man will be seen following her and going into her house. I will use fast pace shots to create suspense as he is stalking her, this will also create spectacle and keep the audience interested.

I will shoot most of the trailer in one location (the house) but I will also shoot in town to show him following her and to build the narrative. To shoot this I will need a Camera to film, SD card, Tripod, this is the basic equipment I will need. I will need to shoot my trailer over a few days, this is because I need to shoot in different locations and at different times of the day. I will need around 5 actors to feature in my trailer, Annabelle, the man and 3 of Annabelle’s friends, I will source these actor through amateur actor agency, this means I will not have to pay a lot for them to be featured as they are just looking for the experience. I will need to complete all preproduction work prior to filming so me and my crew are prepared for filming and understand what to film.

To stick to legal and ethical guidelines I would need permission for every location I shoot in, as I am using mainly public locations I would need to put up signs informing the public and to gain permission for them to be featured. Another consideration is the music I will be using, I will need to source copyright free music as to not breach copyright regulations and to also not have to pay a fee for copyrighted music.

I will have a small budget seen as this is a small production. For my cast and crew I will have to pay for their food and travel. I hope that as I am filming in public areas to film there will be a low cost to fil in these areas, this is because they are public owned areas. I will need to leave considerable money for travel and food as I will be shooting over a few days with traveling involved. For this production I will be doing most of the planning and production but will need crew members to help film and edit, I will get these by teaming up with people in school to film this, I will need 2-3 extra people. As I am sourcing them from school this means I will not need to pay them an therefore fitting in my budget.
