Initial ideas: Task 1

 

In the Indie music video i will use a male indie band to perform their song, this will be shot in various locations of sheffield and at their gigs. i want to use the majority of the footage from their gigs as it creates an atmosphere for the audience. The other shots of the video will be in run down areas where the band is hanging out and being teenagers, this is so it is relatable to the audience. The story of this video will be about the band coming from a run down area and still sticking to where they came from. A strength of this is that it would be easy to record, this is because the footage can be quite raw and there are alot of run down areas i could film at in sheffield. This also has low production costs so it would be easy for me to produce. A weakness of this is that it is quite simple and so the audience may not be a interested.

The rap video would show a male artist raping to his song, this will begin by showing him in the slums and showing how he got to live the luxury life he is living now. First the rapper will be singing in a rundown area, rapping about his life living here, next it shows him surrounded by luxury items and friends, this is to show how he has grown out of the slums.This luxury life is shown through being surrounded by expensive items and friends. This narrative will attract an audience as they can relate to him.  This would be slightly harder to film then the first idea as the luxury life is not as assessable to me. A strength of this would be that it has a strong narrative and so can connect with the audience more. 

The Thriller film idea is about a girl who is being stalked/watched by a man, this man watches her through various different cameras such as CCTV/TV/Computer/Phone. The unknown man is a clever hacker and watches her through camera screens, the stalks her every move with tracker and often appears in her house (unknown to her) to watch he closer. Annabelle is a popular young adult who knows everyone in town, this is why she was targeted as the male is jealous of her life. Annabelle lives alone as she has recently moved out from her parents house. A narrative is built around Annabelle's life. Soon she begins to suspect something is going on as the stalker leaves notes and clue to who he is. The males identity is only revealed at the end of the film as he is masked throughout. In the trailer we see different shots of him stalking her, this is to create interest. Next the trailer will include short clips of the girl being chased, this creates tension. A strength of this is that it is easy/cheap to make and doesn't include lots of different locations. Although it may be hard to make it thrilling and to keep the audience interested.
The action film idea is about a group of boys part taking in petty crime which soon escalates into bigger crime this is found out by police and they begin to track down the group of boys. This first begins with a background narrative of the boys rough upbringing and life which leads them to crime, the boys are invloved with a big robbery where they break into shops and houses to steal things. Once the police find out the identities of the robbers they begin a search for them but the boys begin to hide out to escape them in order for them not to go to prison. At the beginning the shots will be slow to build the narrative but as the trailer progresses the shots get smaller and faster. This trailer would be linier so the audience get the narrative. This would be hard to film as it would require a lot of resources which i do not have access to, this is a weakness as i would not be able to do all the things i want to include due to this. A strength of this is that it would appeal to a wide audience. Also this would be fast pace an so would keep the audiences attention.
